This is a hands-on controller position with full CFO responsibilities. This individual will strategically plan and execute the company’s accounting and financial management, including job costing, cash management, financial transactions, reporting and forecasting, and regulatory compliance. Direct reports include accounting, supply chain, and facilities. Recent, directly-related experience is required.

    Finance and Accounting / Systems and Operations
  • Solid accounting practices - overall financial visibility and control of operations.
  • Financial systems and processes - best practices, system design/improvements:
    • Business continuity and long-term success.
    • Cash flow management and projections.
    • ETO or custom-project-based job costing tracking, analysis and reporting.
    • Project-management collaboration.
    • Track business results. Prepare financial reports.
    • Budgeting.
    • Strategic and systematic financial forecasting.
  • Banking relationships, credit lines and strategic debt.
  • Strategic and departmental activities and priorities.
    People Management
  • Leadership, management and professional development of accounting and supply chain staff.
  • Support business strategy and goals; provide recommendations.
  • Risk Management: long-range planning, new projects, programs, strategies and regulatory actions. Direct and maintain insurance policies.
  • Identify initiatives to achieve corporate financial and profitability goals. Analyze risks, liabilities, and investments.
  • Contract negotiations, review, approval and administration; mitigate liability and risk.
    Supply Chain
  • Provide leadership and oversight: procurement, shipping, exports, receiving, and improvements.
    Education and General Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CMA preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years’ relevant/successful financial management experience.
    • engineering, construction or other custom, project-based environment.
  • Finance experience at small as well as large companies.
  • Managerial Accounting: ETO or project-based job-order cost accounting.
  • Cash management, including banking relationships / financing alternatives.
  • Successful people management: support of diversity.
  • Hands-on experience with day-to-day accounting functions and transactions.
  • MS Office tools (esp. Excel), and financial management software.
  • Business law and contract administration.
  • Data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Systems oriented. Software improvements.
  • Deadline driven. Strategically juggle competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication/collaboration/presentation skills: written and verbal.
  • Professional attitude/self-presentation: well-spoken. Role model for professionalism and company policies.
  • Proactive approach to understanding the business. Design and integrate accounting functions and systems.
  • Desire to learn non-financial aspects of the business: work closely with sales & operations.
